Integrations overview

See the ways Interact connects to the tools your organisation already uses, and choose the right integration for your need.

This section covers the ways to connect Interact to the other systems your organisation runs — productivity suites, service desks, HR platforms and chat tools — so information flows between them.

Ways to integrate

Marketplace apps. Ready-made integrations you enable and configure, bringing an external service into Interact. These include Microsoft 365, Slack, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Google, Box, Concur, Workday, SuccessFactors and Zendesk. You can also enable staff to share intranet content externally with Social advocacy.

Block Editor promotion. Push content authored in Interact out to your chat tools, so an announcement can reach people where they already are. See Promoting to Slack and Promoting to Microsoft Teams.

Webhooks. Have Interact notify another system when something happens — for example when content is added to the search index or the news feed. Webhooks are the event-driven building block for custom integrations. Start with Webhooks and Configuring a webhook.

Choosing an approach

  • Bring an external service into Interact: enable the relevant Marketplace app.
  • Share Interact content into chat tools: use Block Editor promotion.
  • React to events in Interact from your own system: use Webhooks.

Tip: For deeper, code-level extension of the intranet itself — rather than connecting to another product — see the Developer Framework.
