Analytics and data overview
This section covers how to get data out of Interact — from built-in analytics to direct connections that let your business intelligence (BI) tools query the underlying data.
The options
Interact Advanced Analytics captures transactional intranet data and makes it available for analysis. It is the starting point for understanding what to measure and how the data is structured. See Interact Advanced Analytics.
ODBC connectivity lets ODBC-compatible BI tools connect to your Interact data. Guided setup is available for Power BI, Qlik, SAP BusinessObjects and SAS BI. Start with ODBC connectivity.
JDBC connectivity does the same for JDBC-compatible tools, including Tableau, Looker, Sisense and Infor Birst. Start with JDBC connectivity.
Programmatic access is for querying the data from your own code rather than a BI tool. See Programmatic access.
Choosing an approach
- Understand and measure intranet activity: Advanced Analytics.
- Connect a BI tool: ODBC or JDBC, depending on what your tool supports.
- Query from your own application: Programmatic access.
Tip: You can enrich analytics with your own tracking. See Developer Framework settings and Recording application bar clicks.
