App Development Kit

- You need access to the Control Panel with permission to manage the App Development Kit.
Note: The Developer Framework lets you customise and extend your intranet with your own JavaScript, CSS and apps. Examples in these pages are samples, not officially supported by Interact Technical Support, and should be reviewed and tested by your development team before use.
Overview
Interact is designed to be extensible. You can extend the functionality of your solution through the App Development Kit (ADK), which is a way to deliver bespoke applications to your end users using the Interact Platform.
Interact uses the ADK to extend the platform for its own needs and for specific use cases that customers share. This use has helped grow the breadth and depth of the public API.
You can use the ADK to build Custom Apps.
Custom Apps
With the ADK, developers can create Custom Apps that platform administrators can use on homepages as widgets, on content pages as blocks, and more. Interact provides a foundation on which you can build real-time, interactive experiences for your end users, while taking advantage of native platform capabilities such as user context and the knowledge graph.
Examples of Custom Apps include:
- Customer service team apps — tools that support common workflows, such as service plan pro rata calculators and change request workflows.
- External system embeds — embed existing applications and supply key context to enrich the view you give to your users.
- Productivity tools — integrate additional knowledge repositories for ease of access.
The ADK gives your team the ability to build for a more engaged, productive workforce, using your in-house development skills, within the secure, self-service environment of the Interact Platform.
